Mark Howard, born and raised in the Midwest, moved to Colorado to attend the USAF and later Colorado State University Veterinary College. He worked with Dr. Beckvermit at Alameda Vet Clinic from 1980-1986 and returned in 1994 to purchase the practice. He is a past president of the Denver Area Veterinary Medical Society and the current president of the SVMA. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, road biking, swing dancing, and spending time with his family, standard poodle Remi, and cats Caliope and George. Dr. Howard is dedicated to providing exceptional care for his patients and their families. 

Dr. Jessie Holley is ecstatic to be joining the Alameda Veterinary Clinic family. She returned to Colorado in 2020, after 20 years of various moves and adventures. Born in Jackson, Wyoming, she grew up in Frisco, Colorado, as well as Minnesota, Hawaii and Florida. She attended Cornell University (Go Big Red!) where she graduated cum laude with a bachelors in animal science and was a four year varsity letterman in swimming. Missing the west, she returned to obtain her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University (Go Cougs!). Their next adventure was the Oregon coast, where she worked as a mixed animal veterinarian in a beautiful small coastal town. She and her husband are glad to be back and settled in beautiful Colorado for the long-term. You can find them rock climbing, skiing, backpacking and enjoying the occasional craft brew.

Dr. Holley has special interests in geriatric pet care, nutrition, surgery and dental prophylaxis, as well as fostering a great workplace culture and top-notch care. She will also see your smaller furry family members including rabbits, guinea pigs and small mammals.

Kyla is a pet enthusiast with a natural talent for caring for animals. She is a proud parent to Violet, a Belgian Malinois, Reggie, a Shiba Inu, Kirby, a Manx/tabby mix, Daffodil, a Manx, and most recently her three-legged pup Athena. Recently graduated from college, Kyla enjoys crafting, hiking, and spending time with her furry family in her free time. At the clinic, Kyla is dedicated to providing the best possible care for her patients.

Casey is an animal lover with a passion for providing the best possible care to pets. She has two dogs, Peanut (a Chihuahua mix) and Lucky (an English bulldog), who often visit the clinic, as well as three beloved guinea pigs. With a willingness to go the extra mile for animals in need, Casey is excited to meet and care for your pets at Alameda Vet Clinic.

Molly has a lifelong passion for caring for animals. After working as a veterinary assistant while studying English Literature at the University at Buffalo, she continued to expand her professional career in the veterinary field. After working in the veterinary services department of the largest animal shelter in the Rocky Mountain region and advancing to Director of Animal Health at a cage-free cat shelter, Molly decided to bring her expertise to Alameda Vet Clinic. As a Registered Vet Tech (RVT), she continues to provide high-quality care to the animals she loves, and acts as the Director of Grants and Giving for the Gray Muzzle Society. In her free time, Molly enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time with her many furry family members.

Ryan's love for animals started at a young age, growing up around a barn where his mother, a horse trainer, introduced him to a variety of creatures, from horses to lizards and frogs. Searching for a career that aligned with his passion, Ryan joined VCA as a kennel technician, later moving to a vet assistant position and then a tech assistant supervisor. He eventually left the corporate world and pursued his true passion at Alameda Vet Clinic. When not working, Ryan enjoys woodworking and epoxy projects, hiking, and attending concerts.

Shannon is a seasoned animal welfare professional with nearly 15 years of experience caring for animals in shelter and veterinary settings. Her love for animals started at a young age when her family adopted a puppy mill dog, igniting a passion that led her to a career in the field. She spent a decade working on the animal care and veterinary services team at a large open-admission animal shelter before transitioning to a veterinary specialist where she developed a passion for veterinary oncology. Shannon now works at Alameda and is also a board member of the Gray Muzzle Society. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her two dogs, and two cats, and participating in outdoor activities such as bouldering and hiking. She also enjoys checking out the local breweries and good food with friends and family.
